I think a woman. Maybe that's wishful thinking... How would the nation's grumpy old men feel about a woman wearing the pants? And I'm speaking from a state that has not yet had a female governor.

The best way to get started on that is to actually elect a ticket that has a woman as VP. And who knows: if Liddy Dole wins her Senate bid in Kansas, she'll be a major contendor. Hillary Clinton already is one. So's Christine Todd Whitman, governor of New Jersey. We'll keep our eyes out.
