I am surprised that so many people are getting all fired up about this. Personally, I do not have a problem with tattoos per se....I think there are certainly some that are tacky depending on where they are and what they depict. Sorry but there is nothing trashier looking to me than a girl all dressed up in a pretty gown with her hair done and the makeup and everything, and then some band of roses around her upper arm or a butterfly peeking out of the back.

I think the intial sense of horror over the Playboy piece was that they had a little chart that showed the type of tattoo, and then listed what type of girl she was, how to get her in bed, and what she would be like after "the deed" or something to that extent. The description of the girl with the DZ tattoo was something like "Social-climbing sorority bitch." CONSIDERING the type of woman that Playboy portrays as ideal, I (and many sorority women) find it rude and perverse of Playboy to stereotype all sorority women as bitches.

My guess is that the tattoo was fake. It did not look real to me, and the fact that they listed it as "Greek letters on her ass" led me to believe that they have no idea what the hell they are talking about. I know of NO Greek woman (or man for that matter) who had their letters tattooed ON THEIR ASS. I don't think it is at all disrespectful of your organization to get a tattoo, in fact I believe it is a sign of devotion.....to put the letters on your ass, yes that is disrespectful. But the fact is that most organizations frown upon it because if you get your badge pulled they don't want you wearing the letters anymore.
