When I started school, I was so sure that I was going to be a Kappa, that there is still a key on my bedroom wall at my parents' house! LOL I was a legacy, I was in the Kappa house before any of the classrooms, knew the housemother, and most of the sisters.

Then I met the ADPis. I cannot explain it to y'all, other than to say, I was home. We had an unusual rush at the time, and I remember an ADPi sister asking me, "I hear you're a Kappa legacy. Are you going to pledge us or not?" (How many fines would that cost NOW?!) I said - almost stammering! - "I want to, if I get a bid!" She said, "Oh, you'll get a bid all right, I'll make sure of it."

Needless to say, I preffed Kappa and ADPi. I didn't know about suiciding until AFTER I signed the bid card, and I was on pins & needles all day, waiting to see if I got the right bid!
