Actually, 5 of the murders happened in MD, and MD currently has a moratorium on the death penalty. However, this EXTREMELY liberal governor has announced that this moratorium WILL NOT affect this case....in other words...they are going to allow the death penalty to apply in this case......go figure!
MD is going to prosecute the case first.
But IMHO, Black or not, BOTH of them need the maximum penalty allowed by law. They didn't care when they shot the 13 year old black child and the older black man, and the Hispanic man.... I can't understand why people have sympathy for them. They did the crimes.....and they need to pay!! Live(S) were lost here! Maybe I feel so strongly because I live in Hanover, VA.... and people in my community were ducking at the gas station..and everywhere else they went...but that's neither here nor there...bottom line....They both need to be held accountable. And we also cannot allow our youth to hide behind their ages when they commit vile acts like this! John Malvo's problem started a long time before this.....and it's not the Criminal Justice system that people need to vent their outrage on.....it's the way our youth are being raised!!!!!!!!!!! I'm mad that this kid didn't have a stable household, a REAL FATHER FIGURE, etc. When they get into the CJ system,....it's too late for sympathy!
