I honestly like the guy. I think that this season has been a combination of a lot of little things going wrong that have added up.

I think that as a head coach he has the capability. In response to what Chopper said about recruiting - While under Osbourne, Frank was one of the top recruiting coaches. He did most of the leg work and Osbourne would be the one to seal a deal if it looked like a recruit would be lost, however as I understand it Frank signed most of the players in the later years.

Another important thing that is often overlooked is that at about this same point in Osbourne's career (5-7 years after he took over) he had these same types of difficulties. It took the man like 22 years to get his first National Championship, and like 12 years or so to get to his first national championship game something that Solich did last year.

The problem with the the coaching staff in my opinion is not Solich but Defensive Coordinator Craig Bohl. He is in my mind the problem with why the defense cannot seem to stop anyone.

I also think that Jamaal Lord is problem. He doesn't run the option well, he seldom is able to make two good throws consecutively, and he lacks patience in the passing game. It seems as though that if after his first run through of his receivers he takes that as a sign that he should run the ball. Further in the open field he lacks the ability to make tacklers miss...something that doesnt' make sense since he seems elusive in the backfield...

IMHO Nebraska football is NOT on the way out. David Horne the true freshman has been very good so far this year, and I expect big things out of the recently red-shirted Curt Dukes at QB...so in 3-4 years we'll be top 15 again.
