I am so tired of our own (african americans) pulling us down, the higher we go up the ladder! What is Colin Powell to do?? HELLO, he is the Secretary of State of the US! He can't very well push his own agenda. IMO it seems as if Powell really doesn't want to go along with Bush's agenda, but when you are a part of a Presidential administration, ya kinda have to. I am so sick of the whole "Uncle Tom," "House Ni**er" mentality. This is so deeply rooted in self hate, that we can't even see it. Anytime one of us Speaks Properly, plays Golf instead of football, or does something that's not considered "black" we're labeled an Uncle Tom etc. As soon as someone steps outside of the box, they're an Uncle Tom. WHY does it have to be this way? We're not all Democrats and we don't all agree with Al Sharpton!! This is a monolithic type of thinking and it is so sad.
I say KUDOS to Colin Powell and for what he stands for. I just can't wait for the day when we stop behaving like a bunch of crabs in a bucket
