Hey Sarahgrace -- I'm a UPS alum, class of 1996!!! Welcome to GC and to UPS!!!
As I think you will find out, our greek system is very different from a lot of the big college/party scene systems, just because of the size of our campus and the students. I think over the last 4-5 years there has been even less emphasis on the social aspects of belonging to a house and a lot more on sisterhood, philanthropies, and scholastic achievement, which is great. You will also find that rush is a MUCH different experience here -- way more casual and fun. If you are even remotely interested in joining a house I would really encourage you to go through rush...I think most member of our greek system were more than a little hesitant about joining and were very glad that they went through rush and saw what our greeks are really all about. And all of the chapters at UPS are very strong locally and nationally, with amazing and diverse members in each house!
