I guess this is where deferred rush at my school helps. At my school you can't go through rush until your third semester (fall of sophmore year) or if you're a transfer, you must wait until your second semester on campus. By the time they're sophmores, we know these girls from classes and other activities and we aren't forced to rely on a 20 minute conversation.
