I'm going to go against a lot of the grain here and say, yes, I sometimes wonder. On a national level, I definitely think AXD is the organization I believe in most. But I've had to go through the heartbreak of seeing my chapter shrink and close, and that hurts. I wonder, if I had joined my second choice org, which is doing quite well, how would I feel today? To see my sisters doing well, succeeding at rush and Greek Week and the rest?

Then I look again. That second choice org, while thriving, is not the same group it was when I was rushing. I still couldn't brag about my sisters winning Greek Week, because they don't anymore! And more importantly, I look at the couple of girls who dropped out of what would have been my pledge class to join other GLOs. I think, honestly, if I had gone there, I would have depledged as well - I wouldn't have been personally ready to deal with some of the stuff as a rather immature 18-year-old. (I was a rather young 18.) And I don't think I would have gone elsewhere. So I wouldn't even be Greek today.

So that leads me around back to where I am today, and what I have realized is that out of struggles come opportunities, and I still have the opportunity to leave my org better than I found it when I leave this world. Just because my chapter is closed doesn't mean my opportunity is.
