You can get some nice things - vases, picture frames, etc - without spending a lot of money.
Things Remembered is a great store... that's where my husband got his gifts for his groomsmen. IIRC, they can do the personalization within an hour or two for most things.
This is a little late for you, because of the time factor, but what about making something? I often make knitted or cross-stitch items as gifts - I can't picture you doing cross-stitch
but you might have a hobby that you can use to make a gift.
