Don't let your doubts scare you out of rushing, & make sure don't make excuses only to keep from potentialy being hurt. I know you have awsome grades, so it doesn't seem like a "real" reason to me. Do what's best for you, and if your grades really are lower than what you'd want, take your time & focus on that. I just find it hard to believe that your GPA isn't sky high already. You don't have to be honest with GC, but be honest with yourself.
We already know you'll do great.
