The thing is, I can't visit many news sites on this computer. Our IT guys have got so many firewalls up that it blocks many of the sites -- I can't even look at the NBC news site anymore. It's really frustrating. That's why I enjoy being able to look on GC and find current news articles that have been cut and pasted.

When the article about the mother beating her child was posted, I tried to find out more info from news sites and couldn't because my computer wouldn't take me to the websites. All the info that I got came directly from GC's Chit Chat forum until I was finally able to get an update about it on the news later that night.
I understand that you don't like having to sift through the news articles on Chit Chat, and that it's frustrating for you. It's frustrating to me to see frivolous threads like "what do you have on your vanity plate?" It's just personal preference, and what's irritating to one person may be really interesting to someone else.
At any rate, I can see both sides of the coin and can sympathize with each. We're looking for a solution that will be a good compromise for everyone. Please give us some time to work on it.
