I also vote for ignoring the silly girls and holding your head high through the rest of rush. Your roommate and her friend are most likely feeling threatened right now. Sadly there are a few (but much, much fewer than it is often assumed) young women who do use the fact that they're in a sorority as an excuse to look down upon women who for various reasons aren't involved in the sorority system.
