I'm the only person in my entire family... even back to like the 1700-1800's... to NOT be named for a relative. The closest I come to being named for anyone at all is the doctor who delivered me. I wanted to be
really early -- due in early Sept, born in early Aug. My mom had preterm labor in May, June, and July.
It took my parents 3 days to finally name me a variation of the dr.'s first name. Thank goodness they chose that, though! Otherwise, my name could have been Willamina.
