I feel a lot of anger for the meda in general a lot of the time, but this September 11th, 2002 took the cake. To me, showing that sad, horrific footage, over and over and over again, was just out of hand. I was interested to see stories about the heroes and the way America in general was dealing with the aftermath of 9/11...however, I did not like how the media interviewed the grieving families, trying to act like they were grieving right along with them, when really they were trying to get them to cry on camera. Not all news reporters are completely heartless, but you can tell that the news reporter just wants ratings when the camera starts getting closer to the person's face so we can see the tears. It's disgusting. The media should focus on the celebration of life, rather than the exploitation of death. Sorry to go off for so long, but I truly despise how the media handles tragedy...they exploit it for all its worth.
