I had some knot-less cornrows in my hair earlier this summer. They were awesome! I am getting them again this weekend. They are virtually stress-free on the hairline, they give your hair a nice break from styling, and since mines were done so small they lasted nearly two months. I have nappy, natural hair hair and my roots did not look "bad" during those months, wearng a scarf every nite and adding a little alcohol-free gel kept them nice and neat. I think any type of braided hairstyle can cause balding if done too tightly includng micros. If you can find a braider that knows this technique, I would give em a try. I could barely tell she was doing anything to my head, the braids were firm but not tight and they were off tha chain! Somehow she did a technique where the ends of the braids were gold and the top was dark without intermixing the colors. one word TIGHT! Variations of these braids will be my holy grail for the winter!
