What I love about this thread is that everybody's story is unique and equally special. Each one of us had different perspectives and circumstances going into AOII, yet we all have come to such a similar place in our feelings for her.

Britt, please do not say that you were not smart enough to put AOII first on your bid card. Some of our own stories indicate that not everyone put AOII first, either. I had friends on my freshman hall who did not get their first choice but ultimately would not have changed the outcome for anything. It is not uncommon. And nothing stops you from being good friends with girls outside of AOII either. I think sometimes formal recruitment can be such a condensed view of what sorority life is really all about, and it just seems like nowadays there are less and less opportunities for PNMs to get to really know about the organization and the people in the chapter outside of recruitment. After reading your recruitment experience, I think you handled things very well in a highly pressurized situation. Enjoy your time as a pledge as you get to know more about your sisters and AOII! It's a wonderful thing!
