as an african-american woman.....i think that the best thing that we as a people can do is to know our history, become educated, make sure that our decendents are educated, acquire knowledge of self and become financially stable and stay alert. that is the only way that you are/will become an asset to your family, community and race/ethnic group. yes racism does exist both directly and indirectly there is no denying that. i face racism every day at work but i laugh at them because for one i am more educated then them and i make more $$$$$$. so i let them act stupid and guess what?..... they have to come crawling back to me to ask me how to do a procedure. and i simply ignore them!!!!!! so what i am saying is that coming to the forum going on and on about the past is not productive at all. and yes i know that if you do not know your history you will be doomed to repeat it but being a mature adult means (amongst other things) knowing which battle is worth the fight.....this arguement has grown stale and is sooooooo counter productive to us all. so mr. moderator would you please close this thread, so we can all have a peace of mind.
