I know where ya'll are coming from. Last Wednesday my friend, my younger sister and I went to one of the local bars downtown to watch a friend of our perform his acoustic show/open mic night. I was dragged up to the front and practically forced to sing! In the 3 hour time span we were in the bar someone broke out my friend's passenger side window and took my purse. My purse contains everything I own, keys, wallet, checkbook, cellphone, camera, address book, you get the idea. I was devastated. So after I talk to the cops my sister has to take me home. I had to leave my car at my friend's house because I had no keys to it. That night and the next day I spend deactivating credit cards, cellphone checkbook and making a list of everything that was in there for the police to make their report. I go and get a new purse wallet and cell phone.
Well, Friday morning I get a call from the police asking about what was in the purse. I tell him and he says that he will get back to me with my case number. Ten minutes after I hang up with him my cellphone rings with a number I don't recognize. I answer and it's one of the local restaurants from downtown asking if I was missing a purse! I said yes and the girl says well we found your purse on our roof. I ask for a quick inventory.................................EVERYTHI NG WAS STILL IN THE PURSE!!!!! My cellphone, keys, wallet complete with credit cards, check book, camera everything. My sister who works near the deli picked it up for me. The only things missing were a lipstick, powder, and one of my keychains. One weird thing is that all my keys were on that one keychain and that one was attached to about 4 more, he/she took my keys off that keychain and put them all on another keychain odd huh? The one thing that is upsetting me is that my friend is insisting that I pay for half of her window since I got my stuff back. She said that she feels like she is the only one who is out anything. I was like I paid to get a new cell phone, I can't use my debit card or my credit cards, the only way I can access my checking account is though my checks, and you're the only one put out? In order to keep peace I told her I'd pay for half the window. Am I stupid for paying for half her window? She's got insurance that covers it all but $125.00 so I pay $62.00. Was she right to ask me to pay? I feel since it was an accident I shouldn't have to pay. Give me your input on this.

Love,
"Grace"
