huh? hatin'?
I'm confused about the hating comment. Being famous as a candidate means nothing to the Brotherhood. When a famous person completes MIP, inside the circle of Omega, said person is not (for example), Vince Carter NBA Basketball star. Said person would be Bro. Vincent Carter Omicron Omicron chapter '02.
Once again without going too much into the culture of Omega, our Fraternity prefers that brothers come in through the undergrad chapter at their university if that option existed for them. That goes for any Man. All candidates seeking membership through a Grad Chapter get a 'background' check through Bruhs from the chapter of the candidates university to see if/why said person showed interest while in school or to find out what factors were the cause of said person not gaining interest in Omega at the undergrad level.
It could be something, for example, as simple as the candidate showed interest in another org. Can't speak for the other D9, but we don't allow candidates membership into Omega if they showed formal interest in another org. Sometimes, dudes want to try Omega after they've graduated because they logically think that a Grad Chapter won't know that they tried to be out for (inter another fraternity here) as an undergrad.
-- that was just an example. bottom line.. outside the Org there's the trappings of fame for certain Bruhs, but inside the org, all those trappings are non-existant due to our duties and love to and from one brother to another... If you don't have the '4', you don't get the '20'.. and if you don't exemplify the '20', you don't get the LOVE..
