Lightbulb A couple more...

Big City: Give distance in terms of time: How far is downtown?" "Downtown? About 25 minutes from here."

Small city: Give distance in terms of miles: "Oh, I live about 5 miles outside of town"

Kinda funny, you'd never tell someone you lived 5 miles from campus. Youd say "I live 5 minutes away."

Big city: Not uncommon to hear people speaking a language you dont understand. (or on GC, see Tom Earp. lol, had too.)

Big City: You adjust your life around the traffic. Damn, I was hoping to be outta the office by 4:45 to beat the traffic. Its now 5:30. Might as well stay till 7. I'll be home the same time regardless.

Big City: You know what an "Air Quality Health Alert Day" or an "Ozone Action Day" is. You also see the brown haze and say to yourself, "Whatever, this is nothing. Its been worse."

Big city: You live in the land of 24 hours. 24 Hour grocery stores, 24 hour Home Depot's (those ROCK), 24 hour movie theaters, 24 hour resturaunts, 24 hour dry-cleaners, etc.

Small town: They rol up the sidewalks at 9pm, and the only food to be had is the fried chicken at the 1- 24 hour convience store.

ALSO: In a big city, IF I am running errands, and have to include downtown to pay a bill or something, I can often put 100 miles on the truck. I can remember growing up that 100 miles was the distance roundtrip to the nearest big town.
