What NPC policies will an RFM/total specialist leverage to determine and set total?
Options in Determining Total (2009, 2015, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, 2025) – POLICY
Total for a College Panhellenic community is set using one of the following methods:
1. Average or median chapter size (whichever is larger).
2. Midpoint between median and largest chapter size.
3. Largest chapter size (LCS).
4. LCS plus up to 20 women.
When a campus experiences greater than a 2% decrease in the open house pool over the previous year,
total must be set at midpoint or higher.
When selecting a method among the four options, total will be set at the number yielded by the calculation
or 40, whichever is higher.

Someone else noted that campuses with chapters this small are not using a formal recruitment method but that's simply not true in Michigan. Alpha Gam has 9 chapters in Michigan. Currently, 2 of those 9 have a Total over 40 (Central Michigan University and the University of Michigan). They are all using the formal recruitment model with quotas.
Hopefully our organizations will make changes to how they assess chapters at these schools and perhaps make requirements around average chapter size rather than attaining Total.
I know someone said that the Total numbers in the Recruitment thread don't show that many schools under 40 for Total, but I know that some of those numbers aren't correct. I'll try to get accurate numbers for the schools where we have in chapters in Michigan from the chapter advisors. They really tanked after COVID, as did enrollment numbers at these schools. Additionally, all graduates can now go to Community College for two years for free in Michigan so a lot of students are taking advantage of that and transferring to a four year only after their first two free years.
