1) I don't really think it should be a holiday on the scale of Memorial Day, where everybody gets off from work and school and there are lots of parades and everybody goes on vacation and gets drunk. If it's going to be turned into a holiday, it shouldn't be anything more extreme than, say, Pearl Harbor Day -- a day of remembrance, but nothing more.
2) I think this is ridiculous. People in this country need to accept the fact that sometimes bad stuff just happens. Americans survived for 200+ years without suing each other for every little wrong committed, and it would be nice if we could get back to that. If the money came from the terrorists, then sure, I have no problem with that, but that's never going to happen. We've spent enough money on the repercussions of this event already, and I don't think we need to spend any more.
3) I think that something should be rebuilt, but, as some other people mentioned, nothing that's such an "easy target" as the WTC was. I think a memorial park is a nice idea, but it doesn't need to take up the whole space -- part of it would be just fine.
