Preference Round and Bid Day are the Saturday and Sunday before the National Championship football game. In previous years we have had cheerleaders out due to the national cheer competitions as well as rowers and other athletes out for training and competitions. Not really a big deal- panhellenic has it down to a science with videos and questionnaires.
Since the game is on Monday evening, most people aren't leaving until Sunday evening or Monday morning, so most people will be there for preference on Saturday.
