Too much website traffic, mostly from bots, is overwhelming the server/software and causing the site to go offline during the peaks in traffic.

Not your WiFi or anything on your side of things. These errors are definitely originating on GC's server.

The "Online Users" count on the left side of most pages is a count of page loads from the prior 15 minutes. Today we peaked so far at around 75,000 over 15 minutes. 50k here plus approx 25k redirected.
