Chiocutie, I couldn't agree with you more!!
My chapter was never that into the skits and fancy costumes - maybe we weren't no frills, but we were definitely low frills. I think some women in the chapter wanted to do more skits & stuff but I wasn't one of them. I would rather have a woman bid my group cause she likes us, not our decorations or food.
I was at a smaller school, so when I hear about chapters spending thousands of $$$ for rush it boggles my mind!!
All this no-frills was supposed to be implemented and done years ago. I know at some schools it is a tradition and hard to give up, but on the other side of the coin I think a lot of local PHC's haven't done a whole heck of a lot to push it.
