The Unveiling: Street name dedication for Founder Cooper

In 2021, Founder Oscar J. Cooper, MD was honored with a street marker and street name dedication in front of the house he lived in and worked out of in Philadelphia, Pa. A native of Washington D.C., he graduated from Howard University in 1913 and its medical school in 1917. He was the link between the undergraduate founders of Omega and their faculty advisor, Professor Ernest E. Just. He was Prof. Just's lab assistant and recommended that the three young undergraduates ask Prof. Just to serve in the capacity as their advisor. He practiced medicine in Philadelphia for 50 years, serving those without financial resources. He was also the founder and first basileus (president) of Mu Omega graduate chapter in Philadelphia.
