Happy Founders Day!

Exactly 112 years ago, the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. was founded Friday evening in the office of Prof. E E. Just in Science (now Thirkield) Hall on the campus of Howard University in Washington D.C. The founders were Edgar A. Love, Oscar J. Cooper and Frank Coleman, all of the class of 1909, known on campus as the "Three Musketeers". Prof. Just served as their faculty advisor and was elected the first honorary member and was accorded founder status because of his invaluable contributions to the genesis of the Fraternity.

In honor of the serious work being done to preserve and disseminate our history, the International History & Archives Committee, the History Subcommittee (which organized the new history book project, 'With Faith in God and Heart and Mind: A History of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, UNC Press, June 2024, by four Omega history professors), and IHQ has developed an animated series, In the Beginning, of which episode four can be accessed by the link below. This episode deals with the ideological, personal and social motivations of the Founders.
