Well, I for one think that if this is the real Mara, that you need to tell Jordan and Candace about GC, lol. We ALL wanna talk to them. Mara, I didn't have so many issues with, other than a little bit of instigating between Jordan and Amanda. Jordan was my girl til she cursed people out. I still think she is probably the coolest one in the house, but that isn't saying a whole lot. Candace? Oh naw. There is no excuse for her, lol.

About the Jewish thing, if she wants to use the term, let her. If you are offended I say get some thicker skin.

editted cause I thought of a question...

How do you think MTV manipulated the actual goings on of the pledge period? This is your chance to defend yourself and the truth, lol, because lord knows GC folk have ripped this show like there is no tomorrow.

i pledged because i have had a very difficult time finding people to practice my religion with. davis has a very small jewish population and i was looking for a way to find some people that i could bond with on that sort of a level. that answers the question also as to why i didn't rush a national sorority.

in the beginning i found this group to be completely different from other sororities at davis. they do community service events 5 times a quarter, they are an amazingly spiritual group of women. i saw innitiative, campus involvement, and many other qualities that i admired, that i was not finding in other, national sororities at davis. to me, and again, just my opinion here, this group seemed to be less interested in the social aspect of sorority life than other sororities i had learned about. so for those reasons i wanted to be a part of sigma.

i think that there has been a very harsh backlash on this post to the fact that we left sigma's formal. the only formals i had been to before sigma's were frat formals. and at those we were free to leave when we were tired or bored, or whatever, no on cared. so it just didn't occur to me that us leaving would be a huge deal. i stayed for presentations, well into the dancing. so i didn't realize. and i asked the vice president if we could switch hotels because the one we were in was in the tenderloin and i know that area is unsafe. when she gave us the go ahead, we switched. i had no way of knowing the turmoil this was going to cause.
