A school of Furman's size budgets money for legal or even has their own in-house counsel which is capable of taking on litigation, so it might not be a budget-busting situation.
This is an interesting development. We used to provide an indispensable service to our schools by providing affordable housing for students. Now that schools are able to tap an endless supply of student loan money, they want to glom every penny they can from every student--and I guess housing is a vehicle for that.
