I really liked this book! From the beginning to the end, especially when the main character had the friendship with the black woman...interesting. However I do agree that it ended with little fanfare. I didn't think that was how it was going to turn out.

Another Oprah book (lol) that I thought was good was We Were the Mulvaneys by Joyce Carol Oates. Another one that I finished reading over the summer was Lalita Tademy's Cane River...that I definitely recommend.

See, ya'll talking about some ZANE...I have The Sex Chronicles and it is off the hook. Looking forward to reading her other two works real soon.

Since I'm an English major with a lit concentration, I'm always running across some good works. I'm sorry ya'll but I am just now getting into some Toni Morrison...I have read Sula as well as Song of Solomon as well as works by other black women such as Paule Marshall and Jamaica Kincaid.

Most of what I have to read for class is old, but good. I'm happy that I picked this major
