Good writing, I totally understood your impressions of each chapter. About the watch thing, yes, rude, enough said.
I'm so glad you have an open mind about the chapter you were "dreading" you can see how wrong reputations can be! Also whole chapters can change with one motivated new member class, I've seen it happen, so reps can be really rather temporary.
