remember, there are never any guarantees until you have a bid in your hand, even if the guys in your favorite house really seem to like you. in some houses, all it takes is one brother saying he doesn't want you in, and you won't have a bid. in others, it takes only three brothers to keep someone out. if one guy thinks something bad that's not even true, that can be all it takes. i'd play it safe and keep rushing a few other houses, unless you know you'd never want to join those places. good luck with your favorite house, though.

about offending your favorite house by continuing to rush others... i can't be sure (i'm in a sorority, not a frat), but i would think that would make them work even harder to impress you. if they know you're not a sure thing, it's even more of a "victory" for them when you take their bid later. it's kind of like stealing a cool guy away from their competitors. however, if a guy asks you where you want to pledge, you can tell the truth that they're your top choice.
