I think, actually, that is why we have the rule about no smoking in letters... people have different opinions about it, and it's just best to play it safe and not do it.
On the other hand, I want to tell a story about something that happened last night. A couple of sisters and I went downstairs to smoke (there's no smoking on the hall, either). Well, I wasn't smoking, but the other two were, both not wearing letters. At one point, I looked down and realized that the shirt that I had on was a Sigma Chi Derby Days shirt, so not technically my letters, so I said something like, "Oh, I guess I didn't have to worry about sitting with y'all while y'all were smoking." Well, a couple of girls from another sorority were also sitting across the way and turned around. I noticed that they actually had their letters on and were smoking. I think that they were so surprised that we weren't allowed to, but I think that they are actually one of only two sororities on campus that are allowed to smoke in letters. It just kind of surprised me that they were so surprised.
