Depending on the state you're talking about--you are absolutely right. My niece rushed at one of the SEC schools last year as an in-state girl, but she insisted she didn't need recommendations because that's what her friends told her.

Needless to say, I mobilized women from every chapter on her campus to get her documents in. I worry that some great girls are missing out because they don't have that inside edge, especially as some SEC schools start heavily recruiting from out-of-state.
