IMHO I really think NPC needs to rethink their stance on this. I think there are a LOT of women who would be wonderful in a sorority, but don't want to be pressured to make that "1st semester freshman or never" choice. It's not like that everywhere, but at the schools where it is like that (LSU as a basic example) it seems like a rule on the level of e=mc2. Not everyone (myself included) is mature enough to make that decision two seconds after they leave their parents, friends, hometown and settle into a totally new world. I would rather have a junior give her all for the two years she's there, and enjoy it enough to stay involved after graduating (it IS a lifetime commitment after all, so what will 2 years matter in a life?) than have someone pledge as a freshman and be so burned out by her senior year that she never wants to hear sorority again.
