At my school our "formal" rush is pretty much what every other school would call informal rush. We don't do any COBing either, so rush is a little over 2 weeks long to make sure everyone has plenty of time to make up their minds. The first week is open parties each day for all the sororites and fraternities, so pnms can go to any house they wish any day of the week. The second week groups have invite only parties, ending friday with what we call "final signs". final signs is invite only and the pnms who attend those parties sign an agreement to pledge that glo, if given a bid. The fraternities/sororities then conduct what we call "interviews" with each pnm that final signed, and then either friday or over the weekend in some cases, the glo's go around and give out bids after voting as a chapter on new members. It's different, I know, but our greek system is made up of mainly locals. This year is my local's first year participating in the organized rush system so we'll see how we do!
Sorry this got so long! I'm new here and so excited for rush!
