This summer I worked as a cashier at a wonderful retail store that will remain nameless. But I hated when customers assumed I was trying to steal their salesperson's sale. I was standing behind the counter and noticed this woman waiting there. I had already seen my co-worker helping her so I knew which employee number to punch in for the sale. I asked if she needed to be rung up. She replied that so and so was helping her and that she'll ask so and so if she should be rung up. I'm like okaaay. And the customer asks so and so and she tells me I can ring her up. I had already punched in so and so's employee number when she asked me, "This is so and so's sale." I said, "Yes." Then as I'm finishing up the transaction, she asks me again, "This is so and so's sale, right?" I'm like, "Yes, I'm only a cashier." That pissed me off that she thought I may have tried to get the commission. I should have said, "I'm not a salesperson so I can't even get the commission!" Geez.
