I've heard the average (for girls, at least; slightly younger for guys) is around 17, but 90 percent of the girls I know who had sex before 17 said they regret it. And it's definitely becoming more popular to "save yourself for marriage," become a "born-again virgin," etc. -- a lot of people are just starting to take sex more seriously than they have been.
If the number of guys you've had sex with does come up with another guy you're with, just tell him the truth. Tell him you have really high standards and you don't let just anybody into your pants.
