My frosh year...
Oh well, it was ok. I had a GREAT first quarter. I went out and partied, met lots of new people, got good grades, liked my classes, talked to my professors and generally kicked butt.

Then I got a boyfriend. Oh boy things went downhill. Not that he was bad, in fact he was VERY nice and very smart and would do anything I told him to do, but it kept me from meetimg more people, seeking out friendships and getting involved in things I was interesed in. I discovered that I didn't like that many people in my dorm, and instead of going and finding new friends I latched myslef firmly onto my boyfriend. Since I didn't make an effort to go out and fix my problems myself things it started to go downhill.
I did not have as much fun as I did fall quarter. I took Organic Chem and did not do so well. I had always wanted to go to Medical School and I started to doubt that decision. Spring quarter I decided to rush, but it was just as bad. I was pretty lost and actually kinda depressed.

So, what did I learn?
**You need to love what you are doing and have a goal in mind when you do it.
**You can not latch yourself onto your boyfriend even if he would jump off a bridge for you.
**Getting good grades and liking your classes is important!
**Find friends that love you and give you a place to belong.

The end of the story? It got better my sophomore year, and then I crashed again my junior year. I went abroad to Spain for a semester with 0 goals, violating the first lesson I learned. I also hated my program (Hamilton College Study Abroad, a huge waste of 14 grand!) and host family, and I made friends with some girls who ended up NOT being nice.

I guess it's nice to see that we all have had our ups and downs and I am not alone!
