O.K., I have a funny story regarding brotherhood...

I am an African-American male in fraternal organization that is primarily Caucasian. My chapter is VERY LIBERAL in that we have something for everyone! Jocks, preppies, engineering/computer science majors to sociology/psychology/history majors, nerds (but in a cool way!), party animals, Blacks, Asians, Whites, Latinos, Christians, Jews, maybe a Buddhist or two-you name it, we probably have it. Anyway, I am originally from the South (Tennessee) so last summer I went home to work during vacation. While I was there, I got a message that the University of Mississippi chapter was having a dinner in Memphis, and would I like to attend. OH MY GOD was I nervous! I kept thinking that I couldn't go because they wouldn't accept me as a brother. I couldn't have been more wrong! We had the BEST time! They were really cool, and I told them about my chapter, and they invited me down to meet the brothers at Ole Miss. Basically, there isn't a GLO around that is not integrated racially/ethnically/religiously-but that fraternal bond is universal! Who knows, maybe I'll go to grad school in Alabama or Mississippi or Louisiana, and be an Alumni Advisor at a chapter down there! Wouldn't that be a hoot!
