Last year, my daughter was the flower girl in my cousin's wedding.
The wedding was held in Minneapolis. It was an outdoor wedding, held at a beautiful locale off of Lake Superior. They had a beautiful view of a waterfall behind them as they took their sacred vows. It was priceless.
Now, my cousin is just out of college, and I have no idea what her husband does for a living. Suffice it to say that funds were scarce.
My cousin hand made all of the place settings, the invitations, the response cards, the favors, the cake topper, and the thank-you cards. She is extremely crafty, and the stuff came out looking really nice. The things that she couldn't make, like the glasses and such, she got from Crate & Barrel, or Target, rather than from a bridal catalogue. She was able to save money and still have a beautiful wedding.
My cousin married a white guy, and the only black people at her wedding were us (the fam), so there was no booty shaking or hip hop music played at the reception. Instead, they chose jazz. It was a snazzy affair.
