My fiance and I had been talking about getting engaged for probably 2 years when we finally did it. We were at Disney World in Florida (our first "real" vacation together.) Apparently everyone in the world but me knew he was going to do it while we were there. The actual event was no big deal...he was just kinda like "I know we've been kicking the idea around for awhile, so I thought we should make it official." (We are NOT the romantic type
). He had a ring on layaway here at home, but wanted to propose on vacation, so he went to a jewelry store in Orlando and bought a very inexpensive ring to use. When we got home, I decided to keep the inexpensive ring that he used to propose...sentimental value and all. The wedding band we want don't really go with a solitare anyhow. As for our wedding, we want to go away and do it on the beach somewhere...Jamaica or Hawaii, maybe.
Oh, and as for "how we met"....it was a blind date!!! A mutual friend set it in motion. The first time we talked on the phone, we totally hit it off and talked for like 3 hours. (That night, my friend jokingly said "You guys are going to get married!!"....little did she know!) Our first date was Theta Formals, and as they say, the rest is history!
