There are tons of aftermarket products that are supposed to make sure your battery has enough juice to start. Problem is they don't always work... And installing things on your battery is actually sort of dangerous.

I did this once and it worked fine for 6 months or so... Then one day I was in the parking lot and smoke started billowing out from under my hood.

I popped the hood -- the wires going to the device were red hot and the insulation material was melting and dripping all over the engine compartment.

I had to replace several hozes that had holes melted in them. I can only imagine how bad it would have been if this had been close to the gas line.

Just be careful.
