Congrats to your daughter! I went to Florida State - but skipped formal recruitment and joined a smaller sorority during spring recruitment. I was from out of state and I don't do well in large loud social situations - I never would have made it through formal recruitment, and it's only gotten crazier in the years since I've left.
Sounds like your daughter had an open mind and a successful recruitment because of it!
