This is so true!! I went o college in Washington, D.C. and people there act like this too. It was a shock when I moved-in Texas, if I'm walking down the street, I smile at people who walk by-everyone does that. But in D.C., I noticed that people don't look at other people's faces. And once, when my ex was visiting me at college, he was walking around Georgetown, and stopped a lady to ask for directions. Before she answered him, she grabbed her purse and held it closer to her.
People are just so much friendlier down here!!
