Preference Night is the last round of recruitment. It is a much more serious evening...meant to impress the importance of sisterhood upon you. All the sororities have a ceremony, often with songs, candles, flowers and poems. It is a very moving and inspirational night. This evening is where you decide in what order you would like to rank the sororities that you preffed. You will NEVER forget your preference night!

Oh, my goodness, you asked the BIG question about bid-matching. Here it is in a *small* nutshell: The Quota system during recruitment theoretically guarantees every potential new member a bid from a sorority on the PNM's preference card. So, if you do not get your first choice, you should get a bid from your second or third choice. In the case that you don't match with ANY sorority (HIGHLY unlikely), there is still an opportunity for you to get something called a "snap bid."

Of course, there are rare exceptions to this...and I *know* that there are a ton of threads on the Rush board that addresses bid-matching and snap bids in much more detail. Just browse around!

BTW, I preffed Alpha Gamma Delta and Alpha Phi. Both were beautiful ceremonies, I would have been quite happy with either group. But Alpha Gam was my first choice, and I haven't looked back since!
