Lesley Gore passes at 68
Singer Lesley Gore, famous for hits including "It's My Party" and "You Don't Own Me" has died at 68 in New York of lung cancer. She was SUCH a part of my adolescent music memories--even the thought of her dying so young is sobering.
I did learn that she graduated from Sarah Lawrence with a literature degree, all this done while continuing to write and perform. What a lady! She WILL be missed--😥.
