Our campus does this, putting GDI's on sorority floors if they don't fill their suites. It can definately be extremelly awkward. I work with a girl who got placed on a small sorority's floor, she says she hated it... they were very nice to her at first, but after she said she had no interest in joining, they were very rude to her. We usually fill our suite, I can only think of one time where we had an independent on our floor. She was awesome, we loved her, but she didn't want to join, but we still hung out with her a lot. At the same time, there was another girl, a transfer, who was an independent living on the floor. She went through rush, and really wanted to join ADPi, but ended up going to our house because she felt she had too. A house might feel pressured to give a girl a bid because she is on their floor... i'm not sure if this was what happened in this case, because I was rushing at that time. But it is a difficult situation. This is why it's so important to fill your suite.
