Sony Pictures Entertainment hack
In the aftermath of the December 2014 Guardians of Peace terrorism threats on showings of the film
The Interview, which resulted in
Sony Pictures pulling the film from release,
[34] several theatres protested the loss by scheduling showings of
Team America: World Police.
[35] However, Paramount pulled distribution of
Team America from theaters and asked several retailers to recall the DVDs and Blu-Ray discs from stores, and discourage streaming services like
Netflix from having the movie.
[36] This action is seen by some as an attack on
freedom of speech by Hollywood studios,
[37] and others as an act of pure cowardice.
